The Fountain 04:32
The fountain was a gift of the wilderness And its creature children From it we took all that we needed No limits were placed and what we could not take We created from its wisdom The children of another time They were not so blind They gave thanks to her for all of her gifts And cherished their lives because they lived in her midst And they knew the earth was living Breathing, thinking, living You talk of God what do you think you're walking on? You want to cherish/worship/treasure something Why not this world your life depends upon This beautiful world we share with all of creation Such a disappointing end it would be To poison the oceans, take the life of the fish Who sit on our tables and stare at our fists As we tear the flesh from their bones Just as our junk strips the life from their home Don't tell me that's not happening, I have got eyes And every hour machines bight harder Though we got stronger we got no smarter How long will it be before we empty the treasures from the chest? It's not a question of what is gone But a question of what is left You talk of God what do you think you're walking on? You want to cherish/worship/treasure something Why not this world your life depends upon This beautiful world we share with all of creation

Last night I felt the call of the mountain for the first time. Calling me on in a mythical song on the wind Like a titan it stands above the lawn green lands In the midst of the wilds I feel as small as a child so humble So much a a part of it all. Yet it sleeps not caring for our dreams or our praises touched by none but the smooth hand of the wind and the rain It knows every green shoot and every tree's root Its been talking to God since it was a babe And I can't explain just how sweetly the light can change On that mountain range Its a home for the birds, its a home for the beasts Its a place where I can feel free There's none of the rush the destruction and crush of the city Its a beautiful thing, a place to begin A link with our birth, more devout than a church And its living her beside me, yes its living here inside me.

This house is on fire You gotta wake up The foundations are shaking They're not tough enough She's going down Unless you take action now This house is on fire, you gotta wake up Your children are in danger Get out of your bed There's a wildfire blazing Please use your head Start taking urgent action You need to work now If you're going to have a chance Of saving the house
5.
Holy Mother of mine She wear that living dress so fine She's the Holy Mother of you too That may sound strange but its true IMHO (its time) IMHO She's our beautiful blue green ball in space And you know She gave birth to the human race And every other living thing as well She's our big blue beautiful bella bell Its time for a new religion Give the Mother Her due She's our true creator Lessin' we find The big Daddy, who's gonna own up too

There's a question mark above this world And a doubt in every head alive No more do we take for granted That we were meant to survive There's wayward children in the street Fighting for an hours pleasure Who will live to be an aged parent When a button pressed is the final gesture? There's a greedy man who guards his treasure Hoarded in an ornate box With rabid dogs and electric fences To halt the tide of have nots We've all seen the seedy side of progress The young kids forced to work the streets The open sewers we once called rivers The knee deep garbage on the beach Only the bravest men father children To such a temporary world If we don't explode we'll surely strangle The life from this once perfect world

about

Hi I.m aka Steve :) and I am writing a musical :D, never in my life did I think I would say that !!
I suppose it started as what I want to write about; the plANET, our already noticeable effect and the affect we are currently having on this planet, much of which has yet to make its effect apparent and the effect we will have on this planet if we continue to affect it in the same manner and possibly at even greater levels should we continue this path into the future, the ancient respectful religions/cultures/actions of respect towards the land/earth, my wondering what would happen if we legitimately put the power of religion to the protection of the planet, a religion that chose science as its friend, a religion that a total, stone cold, realist could be involved in and have genuine loving feelings for a creator, a religion with no faith involved, a religion that did not care if its people had other "Big Daddy" religions, most importantly, a religion that has a genuine recourse to activity in the form of protection of the planet and affects the world positively having a positive effect on our culture and environment/planet/earth/Betsy Blue.

SO I have these songs that just naturally started to put together a story in my mind then the idea of a musical came into life and because its my music, I liked that idea :)

This therefore, is that collection at its rawest stage, My guitar and I and because I have unique skills, think voice between Bob Dylan/Chris Cornell/Robert Plant/James Brown/Elmore James/Jeff Buckley/John Lennon/Shane Howard :) and guitar by the likes of Page/Jimi/aliens/hillbillies/Lead Belly/Roy Buchanan on a 12 string acoustic ( that will start to give you an idea but you will get a much better idea in a far shorter span of time if you just hit play :), it could well be a classic in its infancy :)

Why I am posting on bandcamp in particular is that I would like to finance a series of recordings, using some Dylanesque "The Band" type session musos, to help me take it the next step further and am hoping eventually to collaborate with an orchestra of the highest calibre. Also I hope to advance the musical which will have to be a major collaboration and in need of backers, as all of them do, to get off the ground (Please contact me if you are professional in this area and would like to join the team!).

If it doesn't get quite that level of support :) a new set for my 12string(ouch) and to buy a couple of plugins for my UAapolloTwin would be great, should I be so lucky :)

The story line, not to give too much away (the songs already do that) will have romance, coming of age, teamwork, humanitarian, environmental themes :)

It is a big vision, I hope you can share in it.
