The Fountain
04:32
|
|||
The fountain was a gift of the wilderness
And its creature children
From it we took all that we needed
No limits were placed and what we could not take
We created from its wisdom
The children of another time
They were not so blind
They gave thanks to her for all of her gifts
And cherished their lives because they lived in her midst
And they knew the earth was living
Breathing, thinking, living
You talk of God what do you think you're walking on?
You want to cherish/worship/treasure something
Why not this world your life depends upon
This beautiful world we share with all of creation
Such a disappointing end it would be
To poison the oceans, take the life of the fish
Who sit on our tables and stare at our fists
As we tear the flesh from their bones
Just as our junk strips the life from their home
Don't tell me that's not happening, I have got eyes
And every hour machines bight harder
Though we got stronger we got no smarter
How long will it be before we empty the treasures from the chest?
It's not a question of what is gone
But a question of what is left
You talk of God what do you think you're walking on?
You want to cherish/worship/treasure something
Why not this world your life depends upon
This beautiful world we share with all of creation

Mountain song
02:26
|
|||
Last night I felt the call of the mountain for the first time.
Calling me on in a mythical song on the wind
Like a titan it stands above the lawn green lands
In the midst of the wilds I feel as small as a child so humble
So much a a part of it all.
Yet it sleeps not caring for our dreams or our praises
touched by none but the smooth hand of the wind and the rain
It knows every green shoot and every tree's root
Its been talking to God since it was a babe
And I can't explain just how sweetly the light can change
On that mountain range
Its a home for the birds, its a home for the beasts
Its a place where I can feel free
There's none of the rush the destruction and crush of the city
Its a beautiful thing, a place to begin
A link with our birth, more devout than a church
And its living her beside me, yes its living here inside me.

The Big House
02:49
|
|||
This house is on fire
You gotta wake up
The foundations are shaking
They're not tough enough
She's going down
Unless you take action now
This house is on fire, you gotta wake up
Your children are in danger
Get out of your bed
There's a wildfire blazing
Please use your head
Start taking urgent action
You need to work now
If you're going to have a chance
Of saving the house

Give the Mother Her Due
07:18
|
|||
Holy Mother of mine
She wear that living dress so fine
She's the Holy Mother of you too
That may sound strange but its true
IMHO (its time) IMHO
She's our beautiful blue green ball in space
And you know She gave birth to the human race
And every other living thing as well
She's our big blue beautiful bella bell
Its time for a new religion
Give the Mother Her due
She's our true creator
Lessin' we find The big Daddy, who's gonna own up too

Question Mark World
04:50
|
|||
There's a question mark above this world
And a doubt in every head alive
No more do we take for granted
That we were meant to survive
There's wayward children in the street
Fighting for an hours pleasure
Who will live to be an aged parent
When a button pressed is the final gesture?
There's a greedy man who guards his treasure
Hoarded in an ornate box
With rabid dogs and electric fences
To halt the tide of have nots
We've all seen the seedy side of progress
The young kids forced to work the streets
The open sewers we once called rivers
The knee deep garbage on the beach
Only the bravest men father children
To such a temporary world
If we don't explode we'll surely strangle
The life from this once perfect world
